Brief Description:
Growing up in the shadow of
Mt. Rainer inspired this painting of an alpine meadow and the mountain
behind it. On one of my early
hiking trips at Mt. Rainer, I walked through this valley. The mountain is more obscured from that
angle than it is painted here, but this composition works better than
reality.
It is the first painting I
produced entirely from my own imagination.
It is one of the only paintings I have done without any sketch work
leading up to it.
