14” x 11” Oil on Canvas $170 Brief Description: The American Goldfinch is the State Bird of Washington. This portrait exaggerates the size and degree to which the trees are pruned. If this forest existed in real life, it would feature lollipop-shaped trees roughly 15 feet tall and trunks no thicker than fence-posts. The pine needles in the extreme foreground were inspired by a Christmas tree and in turn were one of the inspirations for “The Forester.”
