FISHERMAN ON THE MISSISSIPPI

11” x 14” Oil on Canvas-board $75 Brief Description: I have a few sketches from a drive from Seattle to Rochester. On the banks of the Mississippi, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, I stopped to sketch the river and found someone fishing in it. Though I intended to sketch a landscape, I found myself sketching a portrait. The resulting painting is unfortunately so much of a hybrid that it fails in my mind to be either a really good landscape or a really good portrait. I look forward producing a painting in which I can capture the look of intense relaxation common among those who fly-fish.
