12” x 16” Oil on Canvas $225 Brief Description: This still life is from my junior year in college. It is the companion piece to “Keep it in Perspective” and “Keep On Movin’.” The original intent was to complete one painting for each year of college, summing up that year. This painting and the 4^th painting in the series took considerably longer to complete than originally planned. The figure on the tablet represents the chemical and structural make-up of kalonite, the most common type of clay. The title of the painting suggests there is some way to filter through, though the subject of the painting gives the title an ironic twist. Completing this painting required digital photography, a vector-based graphics program, trace paper, and some old fashioned methods.
